One transparent process, five stages

- Debate — the community develops arguments for and against.
- Vote — participation, quorum, and the result are calculated using rules known in advance.

Governance belongs to the community
Deferendum has two group roles: Administrator and Member. The former Editor role no longer exists. Every active member can raise a problem, contribute to its formulation, take part in debate, and vote.
Administrators manage the group’s operational space — invitations, ordinary members, language, and capacity — but they cannot choose the agenda, rewrite the question, alter the result, or vote on behalf of members.
Members can propose amendments to the group’s governance rules. Amendments follow a transparent debate-and-vote process, and approved rules are applied and versioned by the platform.

The current product is a mobile-first web app and installable PWA. Open it in your browser on iPhone, Android, or desktop and add it to your home screen when your browser offers that option. Separate native App Store and Google Play apps are not part of the current release.
